GreenWatt

(Engineering)

GreenWatt, founded in Belgium in 2004 as a spin-off from the Catholic University of Louvain (UCLouvain), designs, develops and markets locally integrated "key-to-door" biogas plants for the food and beverage industry , and ensures maintenance. Biogas can be used as fuel in combined heat and power plants (cogeneration) or converted into biomethane gas of the quality level required for injection into the grid.

The solution proposed by GreenWatt is a multi-stage biomethanization process using proprietary technology that redefines benchmarks for robustness, process stability and input flexibility. In addition, its facilities allow flexibility in the digestion of organic waste without requiring the addition of manure. They are therefore ideally suited to sites in the food industry and make it possible to valorize residues as organic fertilizer. Target customers are farmers, food companies, food chains, food retailers and users of sustainably produced biomass. The company currently has a local presence in the Benelux and France and aims however to continue to develop internationally.
